City Attorney

The City Attorney is appointed by the City Council to serve as its legal advisor.

City Clerk

The City Clerk keeps an accurate record of the proceedings of the City Council and a comprehensive general index. The Clerk's Office is also responsible for keeping an accurate record of all City ordinances and resolutions; attests, publishes, and preserves an accurate record of all City ordinances and resolutions; is the custodian of the City Seal; maintains files of City contracts, agreements, and deeds; and administers oaths, affirmations and acknowledgments.

City Manager

The City Manager is appointed by the City Council to serve as the Chief Executive Officer of the City. He supervises the various City services, prepares proposals for Council consideration, and implements Council policy

City Treasurer

The City Treasurer submits a monthly report to the City Clerk detailing all receipts, disbursements and fund balances.

Development Services

The Planning and Building & Safety Divisions regulate land uses, apply development standards for new and existing projects and implements the building code. The Economic Development Division administers a variety of programs and services that support businesses and residents.

Emergency Management

The role of Emergency Management is to prepare the city for potential disaster and reduce the effects and impacts of the event after it occurs.

Fire

Our mission of the Fire Department is to provide a safe, professional and courteous team that strives to exceed the expectations of the community and our organization. This mission requires our members to be part of a capable, aggressive, all-risk fire department that is focused on "Preserving the Past and Protecting the Future" of those we serve.

Human Resources/Risk Management

The Human Resources staff develops and implements sustainable processes while evaluating current programs and policies for efficiency and continued effectiveness.

Library

The Library Director and Library Board of Trustees oversee the operation of the A.K. Smiley Public Library and its two museums, the Lincoln Memorial Shrine & the Redlands Historical Museum.

Management Services

The Management Services Department includes the Finance and the Innovation & Technology Divisions. 

Finance is responsible for the collection of all fees, taxes and penalties owed to the city, keeping the funds safely invested and deposited in various financial institutions, and disbursing the funds as directed by the City Council.

As the central information technology organization for the City, the Innovation & Technology Division provides a number of technology and telecommunications services to all departments of the city.

Municipal Utilities & Engineering

Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department plans, builds, and maintains Redlands' physical and environmental infrastructure for the residents, businesses and visitors of the City, making it a sustainable and desirable place to live, work, invest and visit.

Newsroom & Public Information

The Public Information Officer (PIO) is responsible for the regular dissemination of public information about the City of Redlands to the media.

Office of the City Manager

The Office of the City Manager oversees the city departments and administers the day-to-day operations of the city. It is headed by the City Manager.

Emergency Management and the Public Information Office are also part of the Office of the City Manager.

Police

The Police Department is fully committed to reducing crime and disorder, while providing the highest quality service possible. The department is also ever vigilant in the spectrum of public safety and community leadership as it relates to preserving the sanctity of the education environment, minimizing traffic injuries, and improving the quality of life for our citizens, as well as assisting in situations involving people in personal turmoil.

Quality of Life

Quality of Life personnel ensure Redlands residents, businesses and visitors enjoy City services and facilities that include parks, trees and City-owned groves, Hillside Memorial Park cemetery, Redlands Municipal Airport, and solid waste removal, as well as code enforcement and the maintenance of our street lights, traffic signals and streets. The provision of these services is supported by additional City maintenance and support staff, and all services and support are coordinated under comprehensive Green Initiatives.
