The Hangar 24 AirFest
& Anniversary Celebration takes place each year at the Redlands
Municipal Airport. The event features professional aerial
performances, world-class live music, a huge variety of food from the
best local food trucks, a family-friendly kid’s zone and a wide
selection of Hangar 24 Craft Brewery beers.
Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony
This annual Christmas Tree
Lighting event takes place in early December at the beautiful Kimberly
Crest House and Gardens. Local choirs perform Christmas carols, cider
and ginger cookies are served and there are photo opportunities with
Santa. The interior of the home is decorated for the holidays, and
immediately following the Tree Lighting ceremony visitors can take tours
of the first floor of the home.
Downtown Redlands Christmas Parade
The annual Downtown Redlands Christmas Parade is a
magical evening event in Historic Downtown Redlands, with floats,
musical performances and a visit from Santa Claus.
Feast of Lights
The University of Redlands annual Feast of Lights is
an inspired service of worship that has served as an introduction to
the Christmas season to students, faculty, friends, residents and
visitors for more than 65 years. This exquisite tapestry of scripture,
poetry, music and drama was first presented in 1948 and continues to be
an annual community tradition.
Red Dirt Art Festival
The Red Dirt Art Festival has been connecting local
artists with the Redlands community through outdoor events since 2005.
Held each spring and autumn, more than 30 artists gather and share their
unique artwork that spans across virtually all mediums. A wide array of
attractive art is available for purchase including many types of
jewelry, paintings, clothing, sculpture, photography, pottery and mixed
media.
Redlands Bicycle Classic
The Redlands Bicycle Classic is the longest
continuous running stage race in American bike racing. From humble
beginnings on a Memorial Day weekend in 1985 hosting future stars for
the Olympics, Tour de France, and world championships, the Redlands
Bicycle Classic has earned its position in history "Where Legends Are
Born".
Redlands Bowl Summer Music Festival
For more than 90 years, the
Redlands Community Music Association has served the Inland Empire region
by providing professional quality music and performing arts free of an
admission charge. Since its inception, an estimated eight million people
have attended an evening of entertainment under the stars at the
Redlands Bowl. The Summer Music Festival (June through August) features a
variety of productions including symphonies, dance programs, opera,
folk music and Broadway musicals.
Redlands Footlighters Live Theater
The Redlands Footlighters have provided
professional-quality community theater productions in a local, intimate
venue since 1980 (the group was formed in 1945). Community performers
showcase a number of entertaining productions including comedies,
classics & other community theater performances. The theater season
typically runs from August through June.
Redlands Fourth of July Celebration
Each
year the citizens of Redlands band together to celebrate Independence
Day in grand fashion. The Redlands Fourth of July Committee works
tirelessly throughout the year to plan a fun filled day for the entire
family. The day begins with a picnic at beautiful Sylvan Park with food,
games and music, followed by one of the most spectacular celebrations
in the State of California at the University of Redlands’ Ted Runner
Stadium. The live show and opening ceremonies include a flag ceremony
and flyovers, followed by skydivers and musical performances and ending
with a fireworks finale. Advance tickets and commemorative T-shirts are
sold at various locations, including the Redlands City Clerk’s Office at
City Hall, 35 Cajon St.
Redlands Symphony
Founded in 1950, the Redlands Symphony has become a
vital part of Redlands’ cultural fabric, bringing a high level of
artistic excellence to the stage of the University of Redlands Memorial
Chapel. Seasonal performances typically run November through April
featuring a wide variety of classical music that includes guest
performers, musicians and conductors.
Redlands Theater Festival
For more than 40 years, the Redlands Theater
Festival has earned a reputation for excellence in performance,
entertainment and location. The season begins the second week of July
and continues through the third week of August. Productions in this
open-air environment typically include a major Broadway musical, an
Off-Broadway musical, a contemporary drama, a recent Broadway release
and a period piece.
Run Through Redlands
Every year, runners, walkers and riders (wheelchair)
take part in these 5K, 10K and Half-Marathon competitions. The courses
wind through beautiful Redlands’ tree-lined streets, past historic homes
with breathtaking views of the San Bernardino Mountains. Additional
event activities typically include a Kid’s Dash, Runner’s Expo and
refreshments.
