Fire Department Hazardous and Electronic Waste Collection
The Household Hazardous Waste and Electronic Waste collection program provides for proper disposal of household hazardous materials. This program also provides Redlands Fire Department personnel with the proper training and equipment to mitigate a leak, spill or other release of hazardous or toxic materials in our jurisdiction. Approximately 3600 citizens use this facility each year. The Fire Department in partnership with the San Bernardino County Fire Department is responsible for operation of the program, which includes:
- Operate and maintain the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Site.
- Collect, categorize, and store Household Hazardous Waste for proper disposal.
- Collection of electronic waste under CalRecycle guidelines.
- Provide training and equipment to operate an Emergency Hazardous Material Response Team.
