AYSO rehabilitating Sports Park soccer fields

June 20, 2017 – Work will begin this week to rehabilitate the soccer fields at the Redlands Sports Park, including aerating/sanding, fertilization and hydro-seeding of the playing fields. The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) will pay the approximately $73,000 cost of the contract work.

The work will be performed in two phases, beginning with the lower playing fields, which will be closed for approximately 12 weeks. The work is being performed by Mentone-based Revco Landscaping.

Prior to the rehabilitation, City crews checked the irrigation system and performed necessary repairs.

“We are very appreciative of this gesture from AYSO and look for forward to the continued cooperation with the organization to beautify and nurse the Sports Park’s amenities back to a state that is both aesthetically pleasing as well as safe and functional for the kids, families and patrons who participate in the program,” said Redlands Quality of Life Department Field Services Supervisor Erik Reeves.
