Contestants sought for Annual Christmas Block Party
The Redlands Police Department and Music Changing Lives are looking for contestants to participate in various music and dance contests at the 15th Annual Children’s Christmas Block Party. The theme of this year’s event also celebrates the City’s 125th Anniversary year: “Celebrating 125 Years, A City that Gives.”
In addition to giving gifts, donated by various community groups, the celebration will also give youth and children the opportunity to showcase their talents. Contests will be conducted throughout the block party, which is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 15, at the Redlands Community Center, 111 W. Lugonia Ave.
No auditions are necessary. Each winner will receive a prize at the conclusion of the contest. Contest categories are:
- Shuffle with Santa
- Best DJ
- Open Mic
- Name that Tune (Family Teams)
- North Pole Idol
- I’m Dreaming of a White Christmas Art
All participants are required to check in 30 minutes before the selected contest. Participants may sign up for a maximum of two contests. Those participating in the North Pole Idol will need to provide their own music. Those participating in Best DJ Contest will need to have their own equipment. Artists will create and compete during the performances and contest. They must provide their own art supplies. Each artwork will be donated to the community center.
