Construction on pipeline replacement project postponed
Construction on a pipeline replacement project along Brookside Avenue, scheduled to begin the week of Dec. 3, will be postponed for a month in order to accommodate residents and businesses during the holiday season.
The Brookside Avenue Water Pipeline Replacement Project will begin Jan. 2, 2013. As part of this project, a new pipeline will be installed on Brookside Avenue between San Mateo Street and Roma Avenue.
Eastbound traffic lanes on Brookside Avenue in this area will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the four-week project. During this time, traffic will be detoured to Olive Avenue. Construction is expected to be completed by Feb. 1, 2013.
Parking will be restricted on the south side of Brookside Avenue during the duration of construction. Affected residents will have access to their property. Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. Signs will be posted 72 hours in advance of repaving indicating parking restrictions.
The City Council awarded the contract for construction of the Brookside Avenue Pipeline Replacement Project to Christiansen Pipeline, Inc. on Oct. 2. The $289,660 project is funded by water funding sources. No General Fund dollars will be used to construct this project.
The City of Redlands Resurfacing Program, Phase 1 is designed and managed by the City of Redlands Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department.
