Report Graffiti, Potholes, Illegal dumping and more!

Redlands Fire Department units responded to a single-vehicle traffic collision that sent an SUV over an embankment at about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18.

The driver of the late model SUV apparently lost control while driving east on the 210 Freeway at San Bernardino Avenue. The vehicle left the roadway and came to rest in an unstable position partway down the embankment.

Firefighters stabilized the vehicle with shoring equipment and ropes before extricating the sole occupant, stabilizing her and carrying her up the rain-soaked hillside.

The victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with apparently non-life-threatening injuries. Firefighters say proper use of seatbelts protected the driver from more serious injuries.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
