Construction on pipeline replacement project under way

Construction on a pipeline replacement project along Brookside Avenue, has started and will continue through early February.

The Brookside Avenue Water Pipeline Replacement Project began Jan. 7. As part of this project, a new pipeline is being installed on Brookside Avenue between San Mateo Street and Roma Avenue. 

Eastbound traffic lanes on Brookside Avenue in this area will be closed between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. during the five-week project. During this time, traffic will be detoured to Olive Avenue. Construction is expected to be completed by early February.

Parking will be restricted on the south side of Brookside Avenue during the duration of construction. Affected residents will have access to their property. Construction activities are scheduled between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The City Council awarded the contract for construction of the Brookside Avenue Pipeline Replacement Project to Christiansen Pipeline, Inc. on Oct. 2. The $289,660 project is funded by water funding sources. No General Fund dollars will be used to construct this project.

The Brookside Avenue Water Pipeline Replacement Project is designed and managed by the City of Redlands Municipal Utilities and Engineering Department.

      The Saturday Morning Certified Farmers’ Market began June 6, 2009, bringing local growers to the City parking lot south of Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets near Ed Hales Park. The market operates from 8 to 11 a.m. every Saturday, excluding holiday weekends.
