Report Graffiti, Potholes, Illegal dumping and more!

Three people were killed and another six suffered major injuries in a head-on traffic collision Thursday.

The accident was reported at approximately 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 17, on Orange Street at the Santa Ana River wash, north of Pioneer Street.

A Toyota Sienna van traveling north on Orange Street with eight people aboard struck a southbound Chevrolet van with one occupant. Three people, two men and a woman, from the Toyota van were pronounced dead at the scene. Six other males, including the driver of the Chevrolet van, were transported to two local hospitals with major injuries. Further information on their conditions was not available. All of the dead and injured are adults.

Six of the eight people in the Toyota van were not wearing seat belts.

The road remained closed for more than seven hours. The cause of the collision is still under investigation.
