A local grocery chain outlet recently joined Redlands in celebrating the City’s 125th Anniversary.
Albertsons’ Redlands store at 450 E. Cypress Ave. recently began selling reusable shopping bags that include an image of the City of Redlands’ 125th Anniversary logo on an orange crate on one side and the logo for local craft brewery Hangar 24 on the other side.
Store manager Mike Enright said the bags celebrating the City’s anniversary were a natural fit for his store, which has previously sold bags featuring historic Redlands locations.

As motorists take to the roads for the Memorial Day holiday, Redlands police are urging everyone to buckle up. Redlands Police will be lending their support to the 2013 national Click It or Ticket seat belt law campaign and looking for motorists who are not belted.
“As we kick-off the busy summer driving season it’s important that everyone buckles up every time they go out, both day and night – no excuses,” said Redlands Police Traffic Sgt. Jeremy Floyd. “Our officers are prepared to ticket anyone who is not wearing their seat belt – Click It or Ticket.”
Redlands Police are investigating a series of incidents in which teenage or younger females have been followed on their way to or from school. In most of the incidents the driver of the vehicle attempts to engage the girls in conversation. In one incident a 17-year-old high school student got into a car with the suspect before being dropped off a few minutes later.
The most recent incident occurred Monday, May 6, shortly before 9 a.m. when a teenage girl was approached as she walked to Redlands High School in the area of Church Street. A silver or white Mercedes Benz with tinted lens covers over the head lights and brake lights passed her several times before pulling into a parking lot near Church Street and Central Avenue and attempted to engage the girl in conversation and tried to get her in to his vehicle.
