Back2School Jam includes school supplies and bicycle rodeo
The Redlands Police Department, with help from local businesses, churches, community groups and City and county agencies, will give away bicycles and backpacks during a Back2School Jam and Community Resource Fair at the Redlands Community Center from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, July 27.
Held in conjunction with the National Night Out, the free event is open to the community and intended to support success in school for local youth by providing resources to children and families in a family-friendly setting. Various organizations will be participating.
The day will start with a community cleanup from 8 a.m. to noon at a number of neighborhood locations, including Post Street and Brockton Avenue, Cook Street and Cero Court, the Terrace, Citrus Avenue and Kaye Court, and Second Baptist Church, 420 E. Stuart Street. Each participating child or teen will receive a free backpack and school supplies.
The cleanup will be followed by the back-to-school event and community resource fair including a bicycle safety rodeo and drawing for bicycles. There will be free snacks and music.

The Saturday Morning Certified Farmers’ Market began June 6, 2009, bringing local growers to the City parking lot south of Redlands Boulevard between Fifth and Sixth streets near Ed Hales Park. The market operates from 8 to 11 a.m. every Saturday, excluding holiday weekends.
