Household Hazardous Waste facility closed for Labor Day weekend

Aug. 15, 2017 – The City of Redlands Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility will be closed Saturday, Sept. 2, in observance of Labor Day weekend. Normal hours for the site, Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will resume Saturday, Sept. 9.

Aug. 2, 2017 – Redlands Police arrested five people Tuesday, Aug. 1, in connection with multiple armed robberies and attempted robberies since early Monday morning in Redlands and San Bernardino.

Aug. 1, 2017 – Police are investigating two armed robberies, including a robbery and assault reported in the quad area of the University of Redlands campus shortly before 11 p.m. Monday, July 31, and another in downtown Redlands on Sunday.

July 31, 2017 – The City of Redlands Development Services Department and the Inland Empire chapter of SCORE will host a workshop on how to Drive New Business with Social Media from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 8, at the Redlands City Council Chambers, 35 Cajon St., Suite 2/4. Free parking is available in the municipal parking structure located on the corner of Citrus Avenue and Sixth Street.

July 31, 2017 – A 55-year-old San Bernardino man was killed when he was struck by two vehicles while riding a motorized bicycle on Alabama Street north of Pioneer Street shortly before 10:30 p.m. Saturday, July 29.

The City of Redlands will sponsor a low cost dog licensing and rabies vaccination clinic in the park next to the Redlands Police Annex (Old City Hall), 30 Cajon St., on Wednesday, Aug. 9, from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

RPD, Micah House, Ride Yourself Fit host Back2School Jam

July 27, 2017 – The Redlands Police Department, Micah House After School Program and Ride Yourself Fit, with help from local businesses, churches, community groups and City and County agencies, will give away bicycles and backpacks filled with school supplies during a Back2School Jam and Community Resource Fair at Sylvan Park from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, Aug. 5. There will be free snacks and music provided for the community.

July 7, 2017 – As temperatures climbed well into the triple digits on Friday afternoon, Redlands Firefighters battled a brush fire where the northeast portion of the City meets unincorporated county, a separate vegetation fire and a residential blaze that left a family displaced.

AYSO rehabilitating Sports Park soccer fields

June 20, 2017 – Work will begin this week to rehabilitate the soccer fields at the Redlands Sports Park, including aerating/sanding, fertilization and hydro-seeding of the playing fields. The American Youth Soccer Organization (AYSO) will pay the approximately $73,000 cost of the contract work.

Children’s musical theater workshop features Little Mermaid

June 8, 2017 – Prepare yourself for a wonderful time under the sea as a talented team from Stars of Tomorrow Children’s Theater introduce young people to fundamentals of musical theater performance. Registration is now open for four free daylong children’s musical theater workshops on June 13, June 20, July 25 and Aug. 1 with each workshop running from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. In these workshops, children and teens ages 6 to 17 will explore the fundamentals of drama, dance and singing.
