On April 14, 2022, the Parks and Recreation Commission formed a
subcommittee to discuss the re-opening of Market Night and at
their May meeting, the subcommittee recommended that Market
Night be reintroduced with some modifications. These
modifications addressed limited staffing levels as well as a
transition back to full operations.
On June 7, 2022, the City Council voted to form a subcommittee to
discuss the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Commission
for the reopening of the market. The subcommittee
recommended that the Market be re-introduced as a Saturday
morning market rather than an evening market to better complement
the downtown businesses and current staffing levels.
Beginning in 2023 the market would operate on Saturday
mornings along with the City’s Certified Farmers Market. The
market would be held from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. during the
spring, summer and fall seasons and include approximately
60 vendors. By combining these events the City is utilizing
resources and staff time that currently is being applied. In
addition, the downtown businesses and community is familiar with
existing operations. The market would also lead to reformatting
polices and guidelines to include higher quality merchandise or
artsy products.
If you are interested in becoming a vendor in the new expanded
Saturday Market in 2025 we encourage you fill out a
vendor profile (updated link coming soon) to be placed on a wait
list and you’ll be contacted once we start recruiting vendors.
