City of Redlands Purchasing Division serves as the central
acquisition point for equipment and services. The Central
Warehouse provides all types of commodities to all City
departments. The Division establishes and administers the
purchasing program consistent with Chapter 2.16 of the
Municipal Code with such exceptions contained
in Chapter 2.16, the sole authority for the purchase of
supplies, services or equipment is vested in this Division. This
division also handles items declared as surplus for
redistribution, sale or disposal per the City Municipal Code.
The Purchasing Division is extremely proud to be a recipient of
the Achievement of Excellence in Procurement (AEP)
Award seven years in a row. The AEP is awarded by the
National Purchasing Institute (NPI). The program is designed to
measure innovation, professionalism, e-procurement, productivity,
and leadership attributes of the procurement function based on
standardized criteria. The City’s Purchasing Division strives to
meet these criteria by implementing processes and procedures that
are constantly evaluated and improved upon. It is the goal of the
City’s Purchasing Division to follow the path of continuous
improvement and education.
