RPD launches site to update public on reported school threats

March 16, 2018 – In an effort to provide the community with accurate information on reported school threats, the Redlands Police Department, working in cooperation with the Redlands Unified School District, will provide a central online information hub to keep parents, students and the community informed of the current investigation status of rumored threats to Redlands schools.

March 6, 2018 – Redlands Police are warning consumers after the manager of a 7-Eleven store discovered a pin pad card reader had been fraudulently installed over the store’s legitimate pin pad.

Lighting, signage improvements continue at Redlands Airport

March 1, 2018 – The second phase of construction and installation of airport lighting and signage improvements began Wednesday, Feb. 28 at the Redlands Airport, 1755 Sessums Drive. The current phase will include refurbishment and conversion of remaining lights and signage, upgrades to the pilot navigational aids, wind socks and replacement of the airport beacon.

Tips offered ahead of predicted heavy rainfall

Feb. 28, 2018 – Another heavy winter storm is expected to hit the Southern California region Thursday night, bringing heavy rainfall through Friday with showers expected to continue through Saturday, according to the National Weather Service. Precipitation is expected to be heaviest across the San Bernardino County mountains with lesser amounts further south.

Feb. 20, 2018 – Redlands Police Officer Nick Koahou received the Medal of Valor Tuesday, Feb. 20, from President Donald Trump during a White House ceremony honoring a dozen first responders. Officer Koahou received the Medal of Valor in recognition of his actions during the Dec. 2, 2015, terrorist attack on the Inland Regional Center in San Bernardino.

Crews quickly suppress wind-driven vegetation fire

Dec. 7, 2017 – Redlands Firefighters were among 50 firefighters including crews from Cal Fire, San Bernardino County, Highland and San Manuel and the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department Air Rescue 306 that quickly contained a vegetation fire in the Santa Ana River wash near Orange Street Thursday morning.
