Annual Report on Development Impact Fees
Development impact fees (DIF) are charged by local governments to defray all or a portion of the cost of public facilities related to the development project.
In Redlands, development impact fees are collected at the time a building permit is issued for the purpose of mitigating the impacts caused by new development on the City’s infrastructure. Fees are used to finance the acquisition, construction, and improvement of public facilities needed as a result of this new development.
State law requires that the City prepare and make available a summary of DIF revenues and expenditures summarized in a Development Impact Fee Report each fiscal year. This year’s report was filed with the City Clerk’s Office and available for public review on December 2, 2024.
