For roof mounted PV arrays, sized 10 kW AC and less, and not including a battery back-up compnent: These types of submittals will be reviewed over the counter, and building permits can be issued on the same day.  Structural engineering calculations are not required for issuance of a photovoltaic permit for single family residences.  An Eligibility Checklist for Expedited Solar Photovoltaic Permitting shall be completed prior to the solar plan review.

For ground mounted PV arrays: These types of submittals will be taken in for plan review, with a 10 business day turn-around.  Structural engineering calculations are required, indicating required footings and solar panel required bolting.
