Household Hazardous Waste facility closed for Thanksgiving weekend

Nov. 21, 2017 – The City of Redlands Household Hazardous Waste Drop-Off facility will be closed Saturday, Nov. 25, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. Normal hours for the site, Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., will resume Saturday, Dec. 2.

Redlands Fire Department 2017 Spark of Love Toy Drive

Nov. 21, 2017 – Black Friday, Nov. 24, will mark the 25th year of the Spark of Love Toy Drive. During this season of giving, the Redlands Fire Department will again join firefighters across Southern California in the collection and distribution of new toys and sports equipment for children in need. The Spark of Love Toy Drive collected and distributed more than 500,000 toys last year. Each year’s success is a result of various communities and organizations coming together in the spirit of giving.

No injuries reported following blaze at vacant house

Nov. 21, 2017 – Redlands Firefighters responded to a structure fire in a vacant house in the 200 block of High Street Monday night. No injuries were reported.

RPD receives traffic enforcement, crash prevention grant

Nov. 16, 2017 – The Redlands Police Department was awarded a $118,000 grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety (OTS) for a year-long program of special enforcements and public awareness efforts to prevent traffic-related deaths and injuries. The Redlands City Council accepted the grant at its Nov. 7 meeting.

Nov. 15, 2017 – Firefighters responded to a commercial structure fire at an abandoned building just north of Interstate 10 late Tuesday night.

Residents invited to apply for openings on City commissions

Nov. 14, 2017 – The City of Redlands invites individuals to apply for positions on the Planning, Municipal Utilities/Public Works, Traffic and Parking, and Parks and Recreation commissions. Deadline for filing applications is Nov. 22. Members are appointed by the City Council.

Nov. 6, 2017 – Redlands Police partnered with the University of Redlands and the Boys and Girls Club to host a tailgate party for 25 underprivileged youth prior to the University of Redlands football game vs. La Verne on Saturday, Nov. 4.

City directs cleanup of homeless encampments on City property

Oct. 26, 2017 – City crews and contractors have cleaned up four homeless encampments on public property over the past several weeks after police served legal notice on transients to vacate and remove all property from the illegal camps.

Man arrested in string of vehicle burglaries, property recovered

Oct. 25, 2017 – Detectives have connected a man arrested for breaking into cars in downtown Redlands with at least six vehicle burglaries since July in Redlands and San Bernardino and recovered thousands of dollars in stolen property. Investigators believe the suspect is responsible for additional vehicle burglaries over the past several months.

Historic Downtown Redlands Art Walk planned Sunday, Oct. 29

Oct. 23, 2017 – The City of Redlands is excited to present the Downtown Redlands Art Walk from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 29.  This event will feature artwork from State Street Gallery, ASCQ’s IE Zine Fest hosted by a Shop Called Quest, Generation Now, RAA’s Art on State Street, and outdoor art galleries at the Civic Center Plaza walkway and 5th Street.

Oct. 11, 2017 – A 46-year-old man suffered major injuries Monday when he was hit by a car after walking into traffic on Barton Road near Kansas Street.

Oct. 11, 2017 – A 26-year-old Corona man was arrested for armed robbery after he held up a local motel before leading police on a short vehicle and foot pursuit Tuesday morning.
